W3E in the spotlight at Fairtrade Municipalities: from circular IT to fair coffee

We are proud to announce that W3E was recently recognized by Fairtrade Municipalities. After an inspiring conversation between our Commercial Director Mark Mulder and the local Fairtrade group in April 2025, on November 26th we received the Official Fairtrade participation sticker received may be taken. This sticker is a beautiful recognition of our sustainable work. In this article we will tell you more about it.

Faritrade Municipalities

What does this initiative actually entail? Fairtrade Municipalities is a nationwide campaign that encourages municipalities, businesses, shops and residents to work together towards fair trade. The goal is to contribute to a world where farmers and producers receive a fair price and where sustainability is the norm.

Sustainability is in our DNA

At W3E, sustainability is woven into our core business. As a specialist in the processing of ICT equipment, we work daily on a circular economy. We not only ensure that The data is 100% destroyed safely, We donate equipment where possible, giving it a second life. Did you know that 70% of the equipment we process is reused within Europe? The remaining 30% is recycled in high-quality standards according to the WEEELABEX standards, ensuring that raw materials remain available.

Practice what you preach

Our sustainable vision does not stop at our service; we also implement this in our own business operations and office design. Since our conversation with the Fairtrade group, we only serve Fairtrade coffee and tea and have replaced plastic stirrers with bamboo alternatives.

Our office also breathes circularity. The furniture in our building has been carefully selected with a view to reuse, and a charging station for electric cars has been installed in collaboration with Unica for the fleet.

People-oriented entrepreneurship

Our personnel policy is also an important part of our sustainability vision. We believe in equal opportunities. Everyone deserves a fair chance to work and grow, regardless of background. In this regard, we work with partners such as Ferm Werk to provide learning opportunities and to give status holders a sustainable start on the labor market.

We are pleased with the recognition from Fairtrade Municipalities and will continue to work towards a fair, safe and circular future.
